“…This Table 5 Values of limiting molar conductivity (Λ 0 ), viscosity (η) and the Walden Product (Λ 0 η) for cadmium nitrate [ suggests that these ions do not have the same effective radius in different solvent compositions, and consequently provides an evidence for the solvation of ions in solution. Similar phenomena were observed in other mixtures of water with organic co-solvents [40,41]. It seems to be caused by preferential solvation of ions by saccharide molecules.…”

“…1.Figure 1shows that in the case of electrolytes containing small ions, i.e., NaCl, NaBr, NaI, and KCl, dependencies Λ o η=f(x 2 ) are characterized by a distinct maximum for the content of about 0.10 mol fraction of propoxyethanol. In the case of electrolytes containing large ions BPh 4 − and Bu 4 N + , the values of Λ o η are much smaller and the impact of the content of propoxyethanol on the value of Walden's product is small. An almost similar character in the changes of value of Walden's product as a function of the composition in mixtures having a high water content has been observed for the mixtures of water + alcohol[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] and water + alkoxyethanol[13][14][15][16], and also partially for the mixtures of water+N,N-dimethylformamide[8][9][10][11][12]. The changes in Λ o η values depend on the changes in the effective ionic radii of the cation and anion.…”

“…The results of our previous works on the water-alcohol mixtures [1][2][3][4][5][6][7] and mixtures of water with alkoxyalcohols [13][14][15][16] seem to confirm this opinion. Also interesting are the results of Bĕster-Rogač [26] on the electrical conductivity of NaCl in water-dioxane mixtures.…”
