“…Časovno konkurenčnost JPP večinoma ponazarja razmerje med potovalnima časoma JPP in osebnega avtomobila (angleško travel time ratio ali relative travel time). Številne študije kažejo, da ugoden potovalni čas JPP močno spodbuja njegovo uporabo (Beirão in Sarsfield Cabral 2007;Commins in Nolan 2011;Altieri, Silva in Terabe 2020); v Oslu je, na primer, delež poti z JPP na delo v primeru enakega potovalnega časa kar 60 %, pri razmerju 1 : 3 v prid avtomobila pa je skoraj trikrat manjši, pri čemer je pomembna tudi dovolj velika pogostnost voženj (Lunke, Fearnley in Aarhaug 2021). Gabrovec in Bole (2009) na podlagi rezultatov popisa prebivalstva iz leta 2002 ugotavljata, da je delež uporabnikov JPP med dnevnimi vozači na delo bistveno večji na relacijah s časovno konkurenčno železniško povezavo.…”
