“…It is known that transition metal ions doped into catalysts can increase the quantum efficiency of heterogeneous photocatalytic reaction by acting as electron (or hole) traps and by altering the electron-hole pair recombination rate [21,22]. It was also claimed in the study of Ba-doped BTO photocatalysts that the doping of BTO with low concentration of Ba ions can significantly increase the photocatalytic activity and it is attributed to the dopants which can alter the electron-hole pair recombination rate [12]. In this work, the Cr doped into BTO seems to be helpful in inhibiting the recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pair and thus increase the photocatalytic activity.…”
