“…In total, 78 consecutive patients suffering from at least one hypomineralized tooth were selected among the patient pool. The guidelines of the European Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (Lygidakis et al, ; Schwendicke et al, ; Weerheijm, ; Weerheijm et al, ) were applied to diagnose the MIH‐positive teeth: (a) clearly definable opacity and/or buccal surfaces of the crowns, (b) white‐/yellow‐to‐brown discolorations, (c) MIH defects of at least 1 mm in diameter, (d) the presence of hypersensitivity, (e) the presence of atypical restorations, and (f) the extraction of permanent teeth due to MIH.
