BOMKE et al (1960) interpreted the observations of magnetic pulsations after the Argus explosions as showing that the magnetohydrodynamic waves were essentially confined in ducts concentric with the Earth and with inner and outer boundaries at 1700 and 2500 km above the Earth's surface. Troitskaya (1960) found, however, that the onset of the pulsations was simultaneous all over the USSR, a result which is in disagreement with a magnetohydrodynamic interpretation.…”
