Global network mapping research landscape and trends of the endogenous retroviruses: a look through bibliometric analysis

Abstract: Endogenous retrovirus (ERV) research amalgamates host-retroviral coevolutionary, phylogenomic, infection, immunity, and cellular studies in various hosts ranging from fish to humans. Henceforth, a bibliometric analysis of these publications may aid in the identification of trends in ERV research. It was the foremost bibliographic study, with the key aim to conduct the bibliometric network analysis (e.g. co-authorship, co-occurrence, citation, bibliographic coupling, and co-citation analysis) to find the most p… Show more

“…According to our findings, the Journal of Virology has published more on the ALV topic. The present results coincide with the previous study of Zaib et al [ 11 ], where the Journal of Virology appeared as the most influential journal. These findings contradict the results of Koo [ 31 ], who reported that the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine contributed the greatest number of articles on aroma therapy.…”

“…Several indices (indexes), including co-occurrence, citations, and keywords, are widely used in scientometrics to highlight research productivity, collaboration networks, and trends. Scientists use different algorithms and methods to decipher broad dimensions of bibliometric studies [ 11 , 12 , 13 ]. The bibliometric metadata of scientific publications has been mathematically used for the quantitive analysis of a specific topic’s yearly or total research publications.…”

“…Trade activities with other countries are inevitable in order to gain greater economic benefits and enhance the level of economic development of the country. However, every country wants to be the most advantageous party in the transaction, so in order to gain an advantageous position in international trade, it is necessary to obtain trade pricing power, which makes the pricing of goods more favorable to the country, and this must be supported by a strong market with a large network and demand-side pricing power [32]. The theoretical model of national competitiveness is selected according to the following principles: first, the theoretical model can visually and concretely reflect the level of national competitiveness of G20 countries; second, the theoretical model should cover the main aspects of national competitiveness to make the comparative analysis meaningful; third, the assessment system and indicators should be practical; fourth, the assessment system should be universal and operable.…”

“…There are many studies conducted with bibliometric analysis in different research fields (Donthu et al, 2020;Guo et al, 2020;Yu et al, 2020;Rejeb et al, 2022;Tlili et al, 2022). Numerous research areas have been the subject of bibliometric analysis, including artificial intelligence in COVID-19 research (Karbasi et al, 2023), mathematics education (Phan et al, 2022), tungsten-based nanomaterials (Gu et al, 2023), educational technology research trends (Murnaka, 2021), additive manufacturing in orthopaedics (Javaid and Haleem, 2019), and endogenous retroviruses (Zaib et al, 2022). However, in the literature, there are few bibliometric studies on honey bee products and apitherapy.…”
