Abstract:The intracellular protozoan Eimeria tenella is responsible for avian coccidiosis which is characterized by host intestinal damage and death. During developmental cycle, E. tenella undergoes versatile transitional stages such as oocyst, sporozoites, merozoites as well as gametocytes.
