Abstract:An integrated computational-experimental method was developed to characterize the global nonlinear elastic stress-strain behavior of a beating rat heart. This method combines finite element (FE) simulation with the experimental end-diastolic cavity pressure- balloon volume relationship of left ventricle (LV) to characterize the deformation resistance of a beating heart. In the FE simulations, the hyperelastic Ogden strain energy potential was used and geometric nonlinearity was also considered. The elastic mod… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
