Abstract:Globba amicitia (Zingiberaceae: Globbeae), a new species from Laos is described and illustrated. This species is morphologically most similar to G. larsenii, a species from Thailand, in having erect inflorescences and entirely yellow flowers without spots, but easily recognizable by its sessile cincinni and puberulent lateral staminodes. A proposed IUCN Red List assessment and notes on distinguishing characters are provided. A key to species of Globba subgenus Globba in the Indo-Chinese region is included.
