Glutamatergic basolateral amygdala to anterior insular cortex circuitry maintains rewarding contextual memory

Abstract: Findings have shown that anterior insular cortex (aIC) lesions disrupt the maintenance of drug addiction, while imaging studies suggest that connections between amygdala and aIC participate in drug-seeking.
