Abstract: Glutathione reductase [GR]is a ubiquitous enzyme required for the conversion of oxidized glutathione [GSSG] to reduced glutathione [GSH] concomitantly oxidizing reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate [NADPH]in a reaction essential for the stability and integrity of red cells.
