“…Agroforestry systems seek sustainable agricultural production by associating the different agricultural, livestock, and forestry production systems, which can be done in intercropping, in succession, or in rotation, mutually benefiting the components (34,35). The adoption of less aggressive management practices, such as the agroforestry system replacing the conventional system of cultivation, contributes to the mitigation of CO 2 and stores greater amounts of C in the soil (36-38).…”

“…Rather, this result possibly reflects an increased likelihood of sheep predation in the dry season. Sheep are less able to digest poor-quality forage than goats, and sheep lack the bipedal stance of goats that provides access to foliage and woody vegetation (Reshma Nair et al 2021). As a result, sheep may be more nutritionally compromised during the dry season and hence more vulnerable to predation than goats.…”

“…When compared to other domestic ruminant species, goats are less vulnerable to environmental stress because they can conserve water, sweat more, have a lower basal metabolic rate, breathe more quickly, have higher skin temperatures, and maintain a consistent heart rate and cardiac output [ [94]. In a similar study [95] found out that goats are more resilient to a variety of conditions than sheep and cattle, including heat stress, a shortage of food and water, and difficulties associated with the bush. When it comes to coping with seasonal biotopes, experiences of water and feed scarcity, and structural features that allow for behavioral adaptation, goats clearly have an advantage over sheep and cattle.…”
