Der Gesamtgoldgehalt dieser Lagerstätte beträgt etwa 600 Tonnen Goldmetallinhalt, wovon täglich zirka 75 kg Gold gewonnen werden [8]. Bei der sich nur 10 km südlich von Lihir in 1.000 m Wassertiefe befindlichen Goldvererzung Conical Seamount, die wir nach der Entdeckung 1994 dann 1998 mit dem Forschungsschiff SONNE detailliert mit fernsehkontrollierten Großgreifern beprobt haben (Abbildungen 19 -21), handelt es sich wahrscheinlich um ein submarines Äquivalent der Lagerstätte Ladolam, denn die Goldkonzentrationen in Oberflächenproben vom Gipfelplateau des erloschenen Vulkans erreichen gigantische 230 g/Tonne [9].…”
