“…However, with increasing wavelength, most of the electromagnetic field extended into the cladding region and resulted in the reduction of Re(n eff ). The confinement loss for both Au NWs/film of the CSRIS can be calculated by the following equation [23]:α(dB/m) = 8.686. k 0 . Im (n eff )where the wavenumber (k 0 ) is defined as k 0 = 2π/λ.…”

“…During Optical waves, metals such as gold, silver, aluminum are used to intensify the surface plasmon, but the reason for this choice is the lower losses in this metal than other metals. Many metals at optical frequencies have a negative dielectric constant that causes high surface reflectance [5][6]. That, surface plasmon resonance has been used in the development of high-sensitivity optical sensing.…”

“…Fraction coefficient changes can be detected by changing the coupling conditions that cause the frequency spectrum to shift. till now, different optical fiber sensors based on SPR have been reported such as conventional fiber [6], fiber Bragg grating [7], photonic quasi-crystal fiber (PQF) [8], and photonic crystal fiber (PCF) [9]. PQF because of low loss [10], numerous birefringence and low nonlinearity [11], rich double-cladding features [12] is not important.…”

“…Due to the added advantages of optical fibers such as immunity to electromagnetic interference, small size, light weight and capability of remote sensing, fiber sensors based on SPR shows great potential for various physical, chemical, and biochemical parameters. In an optical fiber SPR sensor, the resonance condition is satisfied when the propagation constant of the guided mode as well as the plasmonic mode at the interface between the metal and dielectric becomes equal and under this condition, a sharp loss appears in the transmission spectra [4]. In comparison to standard single mode (SM) and multimode fibers (MMFs), microstructured optical fibers (MOFs) are advantageous because of their design flexibility that helps to achieve better phase matching condition and also sensitivity enhancement.…”
