Grafted polyelectrolyte coatings on aluminum surface for hydrophilic properties control

Abstract: Grafted polyelectrolyte coatings were obtained by surface initiated atom transfer radical poly merization on an aluminum surface. Their chemical composition was verified by X ray photoelectron spec troscopy and Fourier transfer infrared spectroscopy. The morphology of grafted polymer coatings on an alu minium surface was studied by atomic force and scanning electron microscopy and the possibility of adjust ing its hydrophilic properties in wide range was established.
