A block copolymer based on N-isopropylacrylamide and glycidyl methacrylate was synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization with the aim of modifi cation of the aluminum surface by the "grafting to" method. The copolymer structure was proved by elemental analysis, gel permeation chromatography, and differential scanning calorimetry. The grafting of the block copolymer to the aluminum surface allows control of its wettability at repeated temperature changes.
