Graph Theory of Capping Golden Clusters

Abstract: Skeletal numbers and their valences have been extremely useful in analyzing and categorizing clusters especially boranes, carbonyls, and Zintl ions. This approach is being extended to the analysis and categorization of golden clusters. The newly introduced concept of graphing will also be applied to the clusters. The capping symbol Kp = CYC[Mx] which has been restricted to post-closo clusters will be adapted for pre-closo cluster series. The concept of the existence of black holes in the nuclei of capping gold… Show more

“…In addition, the isomeric graphical sketch when correctly constructed, every vertex obeys 18/8 electron rule accordingly. The method has satisfactorily explained the structures of a good number of golden clusters (Kiremire, 2016d(Kiremire, , 2017d(Kiremire, ,2018b. Let us take the case of Au 13 Cl 2 L 10 3+ , L=PR 3 (Fehlner & Halet, 2007).…”

“…Since clusters of the main group and transition metals are interrelated, it was proposed that they be categorized into cluster groups (Kiremire, 2018b). Furthermore, the closo baseline(S = 4n+2) was selected to be used as a reference point.…”

“…Some of the vital information the K(n) parameter contains was extensively covered in earlier work (Kiremire,2018a(Kiremire, ,2018b. Among others, it includes organizing CLUSTERS into CLANS as illustrated in Figure 1, and FAMILIES of clusters as indicated in Figures 2-6 and predicting the shapes of clusters.…”
