“…Thus, the intensity ratio of the D band to the G band (I D /I G ) is a measure of sp 3 surface defects within the sp 2 network structure of graphitic materials. 42 Fig. S2 † shows the Raman spectra of GO, CNT, EGO, GO-CNT and EGO-CNT.…”

“…The graphene oxide (GO) was synthesized by oxidation of neat graphite (NGS Naturgraphit, Germania), according to previous works [1,19]. Briefly, graphite powder (10 g) , measured according to ISO133), was supplied by Polimeri Europa (Italy).…”

“…It is obviously that the value I D /I G (I D , I G stands for the intensity of D peak and G peak respectively) of GO is higher than that of graphite. The reason is that, the binding mode of carbon bonds has changed and the symmetry is broken with disordered structures increased after graphite is oxidized, results of which are enhanced D peak and wider G peak; (2) the D peak intensity of RGO is stronger than that of its G peak. This can be explained that after reduction, the size of RGO decreased with the edge effect increased.…”
