Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are porous crystalline materials composed of metal ions and organic ligands by coordinate bonds. They have adjustable porous structure and ordered structure. As a porous, soft, and extracellular matrix‐like polymer, hydrogel is a strong competitor for wound dressings and has attracted much attention in recent years. MOF‐based hydrogels (MOF–hydrogels), as a new type of intelligent wound dressing, breaks the limitations of traditional gauze dressing, expands the application range of dressing, and updates the definition of dressing. The combination of MOF and hydrogel transcends the function of single component and combines the advantages of MOF and hydrogel. In this paper, the application of MOF–hydrogels as wound dressing will be systematically and comprehensively described from the working principles of MOF–hydrogels for anti‐inflammatory and antibacterial. And the prospect of its development trend in the future is made, which provides a new idea for its future development direction.
