Green infrastructure: systematic literature review

Abstract: Green infrastructure can effectively coordinate environmental, social and economic development, and has become one of the important strategies to achieve sustainable development. This study used CiteSpace and VOSviewer to analyze 2194 papers in the field of green infrastructure published from 1995 to 2019 in the Web of Science database using the bibliometrics and visualization methods. Results demonstrate a substantial increase in the number of studies on green infrastructure in recent years, with European and… Show more

“…Then, in order to make graphic analyses more readable, it was decided to exclude the expressions used in the Web of Science search engine, words describing the research area, as well as those referring to quality of life and quality in general. They included: areas (8), city (36), cities (39), of-life (9), place (9), quality (10), quality of life (42), qualityof-life (12), urban (18), urban quality (43) and urban quality of life (45). As a result, 44 words remained, and the links between them were checked by determining how often the pairs of words occurred in the data describing the publications in total.…”

“…These measures have countered the deterioration to well-being caused by the bandwagon effect, alleviated farmers’ “relative deprivation” caused by the inequitable distribution of income, reduced precautionary savings and increased current consumption, and exerted a positive effect on the farmers’ well-being [ 28 , 29 ]. Improvements in facilities such as health services, public education resources, road transport, recreational centers, and green infrastructure contribute to the residents’ subjective well-being [ 30 , 31 , 32 ]. Based on the above analysis, Hypothesis 3 was proposed.…”

“…Also in this study, we analyze the GI literature from 1990 to 2020 more comprehensively and systematically than previous research, and the GI themes involve all the related sub-themes. Compared with Ying et al (2021), there is a richer and larger amount of literature evaluated, which is then analyzed according to research status, research trends, research hotspots, and research directions in the GI field more accurately and specifically [65]. Furthermore, this article also provides a detailed analysis and description of keywords (distribution, timeline, bursts), which more accurately reflect research themes and directions, the relationships between research themes and time spans covered, and the research topics across different time periods.…”
