“…Diverse eco‐friendly technologies/systems for fuel/energy/water conservation and reduction of pollution are installed on such cruise ships (e.g. solar panels that power lighting, advanced hull designs that help ships glide through water more efficiently, conservation systems for cooking oil, energy‐efficient appliances, heat transfer windows or windows coated in a dark film that allow more light and reduce cooling needs in cabins and rooms, grey water reuse systems, use of biodiesel and noise‐reduction systems) (Ahmad, ; GTG, ; IGLU Cruise, ; Han et al ., ; Kaldy, ; Klein, ).…”

“…In particular, the integration of pro‐environmental business technologies and practices into products or services in the cruise industry has become a significant force for the alleviation of its huge impact on the ocean and the greater environment. Because of the constant ecological issues in the cruise industry, which include water pollution, exhaustion of natural resources, climate change, and enormous demands on water and energy (Kaldy, ), the industry is working hard to decrease its hazardous environmental actions and become more eco‐friendly (Ahmad, ; Klein, ). With the increasing green needs and growing ecological awareness of the consumer market, such greening efforts can boost the competitiveness of cruise businesses (Han, Jae, & Hwang, ).…”
