“…The processes reported in literature differ mainly in the treatment of these independent variables, for example, regarding the type of alternative solvent and homogenization methods used. Choosing the most appropriate solvent is a crucial step, and for that, four main factors must be considered, namely, (i) the biocompatibility of the solvent with the target compound, (ii) toxicity, (iii) cost, and (iv) recyclability potential (Płotka‐Wasylka, Rutkowska, Owczarek, Tobiszewski, & Namieśnik, 2017; Schuur, Brouwer, Smink, & Sprakel, 2019).
