Green synthesis and characterization of cerium oxide nanostructures in the presence carbohydrate sugars as a capping agent and investigation of their cytotoxicity on the mesenchymal stem cell

Abstract: In this study, CeO 2 nanoparticles have been prepared via microwave method from an aqueous solution containing (NH 4) 2 Ce(NO 3) 6 , NaOH and in the presence carbohydrate sugars as green capping agent, for the first time. The effect of three different green capping agent such as lactose, glucose, and fructose was evaluated on the size and shape of nanostructures. CeO 2 nanostructures were synthesized and characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission elect… Show more

“…The research on green synthesis nanoparticles have recently been extensively discovered due to their excellent characteristics and environmental friendliness . In this green method, plant parts extracts are used as reducing agent in their inactive form which are leaf, stem, flower fruit, pods to synthesis nanoparticles athat has the ability to reduce metal ions faster as compared to fungi or bacteria, easy and safe green method in scale‐up and industrial production of well‐dispersed metal nanoparticles .…”

“…Besides the different application of NPs, anti-cancer effects of these materials have provided attractive horizon in the treatment of several cancers. Given that the utilization of NPs are related to anti-cancer impacts against a variety of malignancies (Ezhilarasi et al, 2016;Sangsefidi et al, 2017;Ezhilarasi et al, 2018). Nowadays, some of the semiconductor nanoparticles including ZnO, Dy 2 Ti 2 O 7 , CaWO 4 , CdTiO 3 , NdVO4, and TiO 2 have been considered as photocatalysis materials for purification of polluted waters (Zhang et al, 2000;Liu et al, 2014;Sobhani-Nasab and Sadeghi, 2016;Rahimi-Nasrabadi et al, 2016a;Rahimi-Nasrabadi et al, 2016b;Hosseinpour-Mashkani and Sobhani-Nasab, 2017).…”

“…The green synthesis method is an environmentally innocuous technique that employs naturally occurring substances such as plant extracts, sugars, biodegradable polymers, and microorganisms in the synthesis of nanoparticles, Table 4. These naturally occurring components function as reducing as well as capping agents [87,88]. In a study by Thovhogi and coworkers, physicochemical properties of cerium oxide nanoparticles synthesis from Hibiscus Sabdariffa flower extract.…”
