Green TFP Heterogeneity in the Ports of China’s Pilot Free Trade Zone under Environmental Constraints

Abstract: In the context of China’s Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ), ports have a new opportunity to realize high-quality development. Based on the analysis of the current situation of pollutant emissions from ports in China’s Pilot Free Trade Zones (FTZs), this paper introduces environmental factors into the analysis framework of the total factor productivity (TFP) of ports in China’s FTZs, and uses the Global Malmquist–Luenberger index method to analyze the evolution trend and heterogeneity of green TFP in 28 ports of Chi… Show more

“…Formulating a set of operable and effective comprehensive evaluation index systems is the basis for evaluating port logistics from the perspective of "dual circulation". According to existing researches of port logistics evaluation [21][22][23][24][25][26], this paper will be as close to the following principles as possible during the selection of evaluation indexes to construct a comprehensive evaluation system:…”

“…On the other hand, excessive environmental damage will also hinder the development of ports. Therefore, considering the environmental constraints and the development of ports at the same time is of great research value [7]. In the long run, the construction of green ports should be comprehensively and deeply carried out to promote the harmonious coexistence of ports and the environment [8].…”
