Greenhouse Gas Emissions Forecasts in Countries of the European Union by Means of a Multifactor Algorithm

Abstract: A novel multifactor algorithm is developed with the aim of estimating GHG emissions in the EU countries and forecasting different future scenarios. This is created starting from (1) GDP, (2) population and (3) renewable energy share (RES). The determination coefficient (R2) of the multiple regression adopted reaches a value of 0.96; thus, only 4% of the GHG variation cannot be explained by the combination of the three variables. Germany is removed from the model after analysing the statistical outliers, as it … Show more

“…The Earth's history has witnessed cyclic fluctuations in greenhouse gases (GHG), while the planet's temperature has displayed a historical pattern of oscillation between ice ages and more temperate interglacial periods (Marotta et al, 2023). This historical context confirms that human-induced CO₂ emissions primarily drive the climate crisis.…”

“…Therefore, those making decisions can develop reliable and constructed solutions for manufacturing infrastructure in the automotive sector and can offer results as a single or integrated decision-support tool. Despite changes in the global market, the European Union, tucked within the centuries-old continent, has significant power due to its intrinsic potential [5]. Within this context, Disclaimer/Publisher's Note: The statements, opinions, and data contained in all publications are solely those of the individual author(s) and contributor(s) and not of MDPI and/or the editor(s).…”

“…The European Union, firmly established within the continent of centuries-old civilizations, wields great power because of its inherent potential. Furthermore, by using open data collected from all over the world, decision-makers can design reliable and well-built solutions for the automotive industry infrastructure and provide results as a single or integrated decision support tool [5].…”
