“…The results of this study suggest that high school students who are more persistent and flexible in achieving long-term goals are more likely to experience higher levels of satisfaction with their educational experience. Past investigations linking grit with students' life satisfaction found that such association was mediated by meaning in life (Djaling & Purba, 2020) hope (Ekinci & Koç, 2023), and career development self-efficacy (Datu et al, 2022). As an important psychological trait, grit allows individuals to maintain optimal mental health outcomes and sustained enthusiasm amid challenges and difficulties to achieve prospective goals in life (Vainio & Daukantaitė, 2016).…”

In addition, individuals with high hope levels get more satisfaction from life (Atilla & Yildirim, 2023;Ekinci & Koc, 2023). In another study, a positive and significant relationship was found between optimism and subjective well-being (Eryilmaz & Atak, 2011).…”

“…In another study, the relationships between university students' life satisfaction and academic self-efficacy, positive relationships, and psychological resilience were examined (Mao et al, 2022). There are studies in which hope, self-efficacy, and personality traits have significant relationships with life satisfaction (Atilla & Yildirim, 2023;Ekinci & Koc, 2023;van Zyl & Dhurup, 2018). Some studies reveal the relationship between perceived social support, spiritual well-being, and life satisfaction among university students (Alorani & Alradaydeh, 2018).…”

“…Recent studies have confirmed the predictive role of grit on hope (i.e., Yang & Wu, 2021). For example, in a university student sample, participants with greater grit tended to report higher hope (Ekinci & Koç, 2022). Thus, I proposed that individuals' grit level is positively connected to hope, and these two mediators serially mediate the association between mindfulness and flourishing (Hypothesis 4).…”
