Abstract:The well-numbering system in Texas was developed by the Texas Water Development Board for use throughout the State. The well number is divided into five segments; in this report the first four segments are divided by hyphens. The first segment is a two-letter prefix that identifies the county. The second segment indicates a 1-degree quadrangle that is assigned a number consisting of two digits ranging from 01 to 89.
