“…For almost four decades, exhaustive amounts of research, site characterization, and remediation have been aimed at addressing chlorinated solvents in groundwater. While site characterization efforts for solvents were historically focused largely on groundwater transport, biodegradation, and VI, more recent efforts have been directed to the process of matrix diffusion and mass flux as the pertinent characteristics of groundwater contamination (Hadley & Newell, 2012;ITRC, 2010ITRC, , 2011Newell et al, 2011).
