This paper identifies challenges and opportunities for enhancing higher education in entrepreneurship considering student perceptions concerning both their demand for entrepreneurship education and their entrepreneurial intention as well as previous studies that present the points of view of experts. The main focus is Brazilian higher education, but the results address challenges that cross borders, such as the need for a practical approach. The study analyzed the data from the Brazilian version of the 2011 Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students' Survey (GUESSS) obtained with an online questionnaire answered by 25,751 Brazilian students from 37 colleges and universities. To give a reference for a better understanding of Brazilian statistics, data were compared to those of the 2011 international GUESSS involving also 25 other countries and 64,079 responses from them. Three hypotheses were tested. The results show that entrepreneurship education has a significant negative effect on student entrepreneurial intention and also on self‐efficacy. The same occurs between entrepreneurial intention and students' demand for entrepreneurship education. Brazilian students present higher levels of entrepreneurial intention and are significantly more motivated to take courses and activities in entrepreneurship than those students in the international sample. Approximately 50 percent of Brazilian students are potential entrepreneurs. One of the opportunities identified is to take advantage of students' positive attitudes and their high demand. The opportunities could play an important role in overcoming the challenges recognized, among which are the need for a more practical approach and the need for larger and diversified educational offerings beyond business planning. The challenges make Neck and Greene's recommendations, presented in a 2011 issue of JSBM, particularly important for Brazil. The last three sections propose different explanations, suggestions for more research, and practical recommendations.

O artigo tem por objetivo identificar formas de se melhorar a educação superior em empreendedorismo, focando o caso dos estudantes brasileiros interessados em ser seus própriospatrões, ou seja, emteremseus própriosnegócios. Eles são aqui chamados de fundadores intencionais. O estudo é um survey complementado por uma breve revisão da literatura. O questionário online foi respondido por 12.604 fundadores intencionais de um amplo espectro de cursos superiores de 37 instituições de ensino superior públicas e privadas brasileiras. Segundo suas respostas, eles têm mais alta demanda por educação em empreendedorismo e mais alta intenção empreendedora do que se vê em outros países. Três hipóteses foram testadas. Os resultados mostram que sua intenção de empreender e seu nível de crença em serem competentes para empreender com sucesso (self-efficacyou autoeficácia, em Português) são indiferentes à variação do quanto fazem de disciplinas e atividades de educação em empreendedorismo (EE) no ensino superior. Por outro lado, há relação significante e positiva entre a intenção empreendedora e a demanda por EE. A elevada demanda dos estudantes parece poder ser aproveitada como facilitadora do necessário aperfeiçoamento da EE no Brasil. As discussões e as conclusões do fim do artigo oferecem recomendações não apenas para a melhoria da educação superior, mas também para a realização de mais pesquisas.

Factors influencing microgame adoption among secondary school mathematics teachers supported by structural equation modelling-based research

Microgames are rapidly gaining increased attention and are highly being considered because of the technology-based media that enhances students’ learning interests and educational activities. Therefore, this study aims to develop a new construct through confirmatory factor analysis, to comprehensively understand the factors influencing the use of microgames in mathematics class. Participants of the study were the secondary school teachers in West Java, Indonesia, which had a 1-year training in microgames development. We applied a quantitative approach to collect the data via online questionnaires through google form. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with AMOS software was used to analyze the proposed model. Empirical results confirmed the perceived easy to use and subjective norm influence (PEU and SN) relationship with teachers’ microgame usage behaviors and intentions. In this condition, SN was found to have the initial significant influence on behavioral intention (BI), as attitude, BI, and facilitating conditions also correlated with the actual use of microgames. Furthermore, the largest influential factor was BI, with the results subsequently showing that TPACK had no significant influence on the actual use of microgames. This report is expected to help bridge the gap across several previous studies, as well as contribute to the explanation and prediction of the factors influencing the teachers’ mathematical utilization of the study’s program. Besides this, it also helps to increase the use of microgames in teaching and learning activities.
