Growth and Characterization of Fe_xMn_1‐xIn₂Se₄ (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) Single Crystals.

Abstract

x ≤ 1) Single Crystals. -Single crystals of the title compounds are prepared by chemical vapor transport reaction of the elements using I2 as transporting agent. As revealed by powder XRD samples with x = 0 and 0.1 crystallize in the rhombohedral space group R3m, samples with x = 0.5 and 1.0 in the hexagonal space group P3m1, and samples with x = 0.7 and 0.9 in the hexagonal space group P6 3 mc. The crystals are further characterized by optical absorption spectroscopy as a function of temperature.
