Growth and Domain Structure of TGS Crystals Doped with Various Amino Acids

Abstract: Single crystals of triglycine sulfate (TGS) doped with various L-form amino acids have been prepared. Doping effects on the crystal morphology and the ferroelectric domain structure, and the generation of internal bias field E b were investigated. For crystals grown from solutions with L-valine, L-leucine, and L-isoleucine, both the morphology and the domain structures were resemble to pure TGS and the generation of E b was not realized. Doping of L-threonine, L-cysteine, L-asparagine, L-aspartic acid, and Lme… Show more

“…For the most sectors the intensity of E b is weak and multi domain structures are realized. Such a difference can be attributed to the molecular structure [7,27,28]. Since the L-methionine molecule is substantially larger than glycine and alanine as shown in Fig.…”

“…Most of them deal with the effects due to L-amino acids [20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28]. There are some papers concerned in the doping of D-and DL-amino acids [29][30][31][32][33].…”
