Growth and Yield Response of Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) to Cow Manure Dosage and Phosphorus Fertilizer on Ultisol

Abstract: Peanut plant production has decreased almost every year, caused by several factors such as cultivation techniques, diseases, varieties, competition with other commodities and the increasingly narrow land area. One effort to improve the yield of peanuts by optimizing ultisol land for cultivation of plants. Ultisol soil is one of acid soils, high Al content, low organic matter content, and low cation exchange capacity. Provision of fertilizer is one effort made to maximize the use of ultisol land. This study aim… Show more

“…The GP in the biofertilizer treatment increased with the gain of biofertilizer doses (P1, P2, P3), but this was not in line with the sludge and the biofertilizer-sludge combination. According to Silitonga et al (2018), combining the two treatments can often trigger inhibition or cause plants do not to respond to the treatment at all. This condition can occur because the response of plants is influenced by plant genetic and environmental conditions as interrelated factors.…”

“…The significant increase in pod yield with the soil amendments could be explained by the cumulative increase in growth observed with increased stover weight. The application of soil enhancers improved soil fertility [11,20]. This allows increased absorption of nutrients for peanuts, thereby improving metabolism through growth and development of plants.…”

“…CM is also used as a soil amendment because it is rich in C-organic nutrients, N, P2O5, and K2O of 5.9, 0.9, 0.4, and 0.3%, respectively [18,19]. The use of CM at 12 tons/ha can improve the peanut yield observed as the number of pithy pods of 36.38 pods/plant [20].…”

“…Data Produksi kacang tanah di Indonesia pada tahun 2018 adalah 512,198 ton, dengan produktivitas 13.37 Ku Ha -1 (Badan Pusat Statistik, 2018). Produksi kacang tanah masih relatif stagnan bahkan cenderung menurun dikarenakan beberapa faktor antara lain teknik budidaya, penyakit, varietas, dan luas areal penanaman yang semakin berkurang (Kurniawan et al, 2017;Silitongan et al, 2018).…”
