“…Recently, Li et al 17 prepared cubic zinc-blend BP nanosheets with a thickness of about 4 nm, and demonstrated that the BP nanosheets were well dispersed in water with a concentration of 0.2 mg/mL. Liang et al 18 synthesized cubic zinc-blend BP single crystals larger than 1mm, and evaluated their excellent thermal stability up to 1200 ºC.…”

“…Notably, excessive B can weaken the content of BP according to the diffraction peaks and the same phenomenon occurs in WB 4 . [29] In previous experiments, [6] the synthesis temperature is at 800 • C. Therefore, the phase diagram of BP is depicted in Fig. 2(d).…”

“…Except for exploring the phase transitions of BP and B 6 P under pressure, their mechanical properties have also been investigated by synthesizing single crystals , or polycrystalline bulks. Recently, Gui et al synthesized a millimeter-sized BP single crystal and proposed a Vickers hardness of 38 GPa under a load of only 0.49 N. However, the small loads usually produce shallow indentations according to strain gradient theory, which will give higher Vickers hardness than the actual values. , On the other hand, as for the BP and B 6 P polycrystalline bulks, the measured Vickers hardness are 28–30 and 35 GPa, , respectively, and the fracture toughness are 1.8 and 3.9 MPa·m 1/2 , respectively. Obviously, the known BP and B 6 P exhibit relatively high hardness.…”
