Abstract:The Catholic doctrine on original sin was dogmatized in the 16th century at the Council of Trent. Since then a lot has changed: the way of interpreting the first chapters of the Book of Genesis, the scientific paradigm describing the beginning of the world and human existence on earth, and finally the philo-sophical paradigm.
