Abstract: Since the identification of anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antibodies about 15 years ago, many patients with rapidly progressing psychiatric symptoms, abnormal movements, seizures or unexplained coma, have been diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis (AE).
