We will review a number of these clinical scenarios. Finally, given the apparent promise of 3D printed appliances, we will argue that instruction in their use should be incorporated into didactic clinical instruction. In sum, it was hoped that this review would shed light on the current, and future, utility of this fast-growing technology.
