Guillemeau: “Les oeuvres chirurgicales” (surgical works), Rouen (France) 1649

Abstract: Jacques GUILLEMEAU (1550–1612) published several books during his surgical life. He was a brilliant follower of Ambroise Paré and the surgeon of several kings of France. This late edition was a posthumous and complete one, published in the town of Rouen in 1649 by Jean VIRET and printed by Pierre MAILLE. It was an in folio with 863 pages and numerous figures: 32 copper plates = 21 anatomical ones and 11 plates of surgical instruments.
