This chapter explores the innovation ecosystem in Costa Rica's Chorotega region, analyzing the contributions of various stakeholders to local and regional progress through innovation. Utilizing qualitative and descriptive methods, data from sources like university databases and institutional websites are examined. The findings reveal a network of key players, including national and local governments shaping innovation policies, higher education institutions fostering research and technical skills, and diverse industries collaborating with government bodies, financial institutions, and international markets to boost productivity and innovation. The conclusions highlight knowledge infrastructure actors like universities, research institutions, tourism chambers, and community associations, as well as government and business entities driving innovation and development in the Chorotega region. In summary, this study unveils the complex web of actors propelling innovation and advancement in Costa Rica's Chorotega region.
