“…A study in Benin (Boko-Haya et al, 2017) reported a significant decline in the number of plants of this species in recent years (Boko-Haya et al, 2021). Several countries, including Cameroon (Shidiki et al, 2021), Ivory Coast (Yapo et al, 2020, Benin Agre et al, 2023Hounsou-Dindin et al, Hounsode et al, 2023;Hounsou-Dindin et al, 2022;Hounsou-Dindin et al, 2021), andNigeria (Ogbuagu et al, 2019), have advocated the integration of R. heudelotii into agroforestry systems, as a means of mitigating this problem. The edaphic (well-drained soil rich in trace elements) and climatic (favorable temperature and rainfall levels) conditions in the intertropical zone of Africa are favorable for the cultivation of this plant.…”
