IoT-based robots can help people to a great extent. This work results in a low-cost posture recognizer robot that can detect posture signs from a disabled or virus-affected person and move accordingly. The robot can take images with the Raspberry Pi camera and process the image to identify the posture with our designed algorithm. In addition, it can also take instructions via Bluetooth from smartphone apps. The robot can move 360 degrees depending on the input posture or Bluetooth. This system can assist disabled people who can move a few organs only. Moreover, this system can assist virus-affected persons as they can instruct the robot without touching it. Finally, the robot can collect data from a distant place and send it to a cloud server without spreading the virus.

Smart home is a habitation that has been outfitted with technological solutions that are intended to provide people with services that are suited to their needs. The purpose of this article is to perform a systematic assessment of the latest smart home literature and to conduct a survey of research and development conducted in this field. In addition to presenting a complete picture of the current smart home system’s (SHS) development and characteristics, this paper provides a deep insight into latest hardware and trends. The research then moves on to a detailed discussion of some of the important services provided by the SHS and its advantages. The paper also statistically discusses the current and future research trends in the SHS, followed by a detailed portrayal of the difficulties and roadblocks in implementing them. The comprehensive overview of the SHS presented in this paper will help designers, researchers, funding agencies, and policymakers have a bird’s-eye view of the overall concept, attributes, technological aspects, and features of modern SHSs.

<span>This paper proposes a way to control home appliances using a multimodal interaction system such as speech, gestures, and smartphone applications. The sensor to capture speech, in the Indonesian language, and gestures from users are Kinect v2. Speech recognition process with the Google Cloud Speech, gesture recognition process with the K-Means clustering, and dialogue system process with the finite state machine. Users can also use the smartphone application to remotely control home appliances through mobile devices such as tablets or smartphones that are connected directly to the real-time database. There are two output responses from this system, namely the audio response generator to provide feedback to the user through the sound of the computer speaker and also provide an action to control home appliances use Esp8266. The average level of accuracy testing of interaction using dialogue systems and gesture are 92.5% and 79,25%. Interaction using dialogue systems is better than gesture. Smartphone applications can control home appliances properly.</span>
