Handedness

Abstract: In humans, the tendency to use, prefer, or favor one hand over the other is characterized by a strong skew for right‐handedness, typically a 9:1 ratio. In nonhuman primates, patterns of laterality are more diverse, may vary within and between species, and exhibit the strongest directional asymmetries when primates engage in fine motor manipulation of food or objects.
