Abstract

This thesis is concerned with Hans Bellmer's 1949 book Les Jeux de la Poupée (The Games of the Doll) and includes a detailed physical description of its first edition, its design, the techniques used to print the photographs. It contains, the circumstance of its making, its deterioration issues, recommendations for preservation, and Bellmer's historical context.
