A complicated and multidimensional psychological disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has attracted a lot of interest in the realm of mental health. By analyzing PTSD from both behavioral and phenomenological angles, this chapter seeks to offer a thorough understanding of the condition. The first section of the chapter explores the behavioral components of PTSD. This covers an analysis of typical symptoms including hyperarousal, avoidance, and intrusive thoughts in addition to how trauma affects a person's relationships and day-to-day activities. This chapter also looks at the phenomenology aspect of PTSD. The purpose of this part is to shed light on the inner lives of persons afflicted with PTSD by exposing the profound and frequently hidden components of the condition. Understanding the relationship that exists between a person's lived experiences and their behavioral manifestations of PTSD can help with diagnosis, treatment, and support.
