Health Condition Influence on Revolutionaries’ Activity (by the Example of Biographical Memoirs of the First Third of the XX Century)

Abstract

The research objectives are as follows: relying on an analysis of biographical memoirs of the first third of the XX century, the author tries to identify health condition influence on revolutionaries’ activity. The article reveals specificity of biographical memoirs, describes the personages’ corporeal characteristics, shows how the characters’ physical and psychic health influenced their behaviour and beliefs. Scientific originality of the study involves a comprehensive analysis of ego-documents of the 1920-1930s taking into account mutual influence of corporal and social factors. The research findings are as follows: the author shows that specificity of a revolutionary’s image representation promoted formation of new social values.
