Objective As the use of non‐invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) increases, its benefits and concerns are being examined through surveys, qualitative studies, and bioethical analysis. However, only scant research has examined public discourse on the topic. This research examined NIPT discussions on the social media platform Reddit. Method Content and qualitative description analysis was performed on 98 NIPT discussions (2682 comments), obtained by inputting “NIPT” into Reddit's search engine. Results Detailing of benefits and concerns was found in collaborative and supportive discussions. Overall, NIPT is seen as valuable and desirable. Some concerns focused on cost‐related barriers to access, anxiety related to testing, and interpretation of results. NIPT is often portrayed as offering peace of mind and is sometimes described as a means of preparing for possible outcomes. Conclusion In the discussions analyzed, NIPT is seen, overall, as valuable and greater access to it is desired. Some questions and concerns about NIPT were evident. Reddit stands as a valuable and appreciated tool for individuals wishing to discuss NIPT and to solicit and share information, opinions, and experiences. Health care providers should consider the ways social platforms such as Reddit can be engaged to better inform and educate the public.

Nowadays, the huge usage of internet leads to tremendous information growth as a result of our daily activities that deal with different sources such as news articles, forums, websites, emails and social media. Social media is a rich source of information that deeply affect users by its useful content. However, there are a lot of rumors in these social media platforms which can cause critical consequences to the people's lives, especially if it is related to the health-related information. Several studies focused on automatically detecting rumors from social media by applying machine learning and intelligent methods. However, few studies concerned about health-related rumors in Arabic language. Therefore, this paper is dealing with detecting health-related rumors focusing on cancer treatment information that are spread over social media using Arabic language. In addition, it presents the process of creating a dataset that is called Health-Related Rumors Dataset (HRRD) which will be available and beneficial for further studies in health-related research. Furthermore, an experiment has been conducted to investigate the performance of several machine learning methods to detect the health-related rumors on social media for Arabic language. The experimental results showed the rumors can be detected with an accuracy of 83.50%.

Accompanied by false information, mass media content is hindering efforts to cope with the current outbreak. Although the World Health Organization and other concerned bodies are notified regarding misinformation, myths and rumors are highly prevalent. This paper aims to highlight the misinformation and its potential impacts during the Covid-19 by using the Systematic Review Approach. The researcher randomly selected n = 35 research articles published from 2015 to 2020, witnessing the misinformation as a major concern during previous endemics and the current Covid-19 pandemic. Myths and rumors through traditional and new media platforms cause Xenophobia, LGBT Rights violations, and psychological disorders among the masses. Despite the efforts made by the World Health Organization, much more is required to nullify the impacts of misinformation and Covid-19. Therefore, the researcher recommended improved global healthcare policies and strategies to counteract against misinformation to mitigate the impacts of Covid-19.
