“…The reliability and validity of the back-saver sit-andreach tests have been reported [63]. Another version is the v-sit and reach, used in the President's Challenge Fitness Awards [100,193], a modification of the sit and reach test that does not require a box, but a straight line extending approximately 60 cm marked on the floor as baseline. The SART has been usually performed in the background of physical education classes at school, suggesting its feasibility and applicability in this context.…”

“…Long-term changes are needed for interventions to be effective, yet only three studies have examined fitness outcomes at least 6 months post-intervention Eliakim et al, 2002;Resnicow et al, 2005). Whilst there are multiple components to health-related fitness including cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular performance and body composition (Ganley et al, 2011), and each component has important and potentially independent health effects (Ganley et al, 2011), only Davis et al (2011) has examined both cardiorespiratory and muscular fitness and this study had no long-term follow-up or family involvement.…”

“…Also, while determining obesity, cooperation of children is necessary for measurements. Majority of the results have reported obesity being assessed by BMI, waist circumference, waist height ratio and skin-fold thickness measures (Malina, 2001;Deurenberg, 1990;Ganley et al, 2011;Ostojic, 2011).The development of cardio-respiratory diseases is laid upon the foundation of reduced physical fitness which is found to be associated with body composition measures (Dumith et al, 2010;Milanese, 2010). Physical fitness is the capacity to perform daily tasks without experiencing fatigue.…”

“…Physical fitness is the capacity to perform daily tasks without experiencing fatigue. It is broadly categorised into skill-related and health-related fitness (Malina, 2001;Ganley et al, 2011). Of the two, health-related fitness is the domain which is documented to be getting affected the most.…”
