“…Tsunoda et al [21] also showed that overall HRQoL was not deteriorated within patients that received adjCT, only the short-term HRQoL was lower and caused by toxicity. And finally, Tsunoda showed a significant deterioration of HRQoL, however, this was HRQoL measured during treatment, in a small group of 37 colon cancer patients and it was defined as acceptable [8].…”

“…This review underlines that reasons for withholding chemotherapy are not always clear: in 15% the reason for withholding chemotherapy was not mentioned; and in 22% chemotherapy was 'not clinically indicated', although patients were eligible for adjCT [4,5]; also patients sometimes refuse chemotherapy themselves; or the presence of comorbid conditions and advanced age made one restrain from chemotherapy [4,6]. In a group of colon cancer patients, health related quality of life (HRQoL) is deteriorated after receiving chemotherapy [7,8]. Another paper focussing on long-term HRQoL, showed that colon cancer survivors who received adjCT have general health status scores comparable to survivors who did not receive adjCT [9].…”
