Healthcare decommodification in decentralization context: Reviewing the ideational constructions of “classless hospital policy” initiatives in Kulon Progo Regency, Indonesia

Abstract: This article illustrates the emergence of radical local welfare initiatives as a political response to the imperfect national program in decentralization context in Indonesia. “…Five years after the decentralization policy was launched, in 2004 the government of Indonesia enacted a national social security system law, which designated to integrate prior fragmented social security schemes into one single administrative body (Sistem Jaminan Sosial Nasional (SJSN)).
