This protective Taiwanese eating approach (TEA) is similar to the Mediterranean and DASH diets, but with some local features; it is enriched with nutrient and phytonutrient-rich plant foods (vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and nuts and seeds) and drinks (tea), fish, shellfish, and other protein-rich foods, such as eggs and milk, but less white rice or noodles [9].
