Heat and Mass Transfer of Hydrodynamic Boundary Layer Flow along a Flat Plate with the Influence of Variable Temperature and Viscous Dissipation

Abstract: This paper elucidates heat together with mass transfer through a flat plate and variable temperature as well as dissipative effects. The flow assumptions resulted to steady flow equations which were simplified with appropriate similarity variables. The simplified equations were numerically solved and results are presented both in graphs and tabular form. Effects of physical quantities of interest were presented graphically. The local skin friction is observed to increase because of increase in Schmidt number. … Show more

“…The treatise of Oyelami and Falodun [20], on heat in company with mass transfer of hydrodynamic flow towards a horizontal plate, together with the consequence of altered temperature along with viscous depletion, was a Newtonian fluid together with a variable temperature, also with viscous dissipation and chemical reaction. In their previous study, there was no Cattaneo-Christov model, and the Soret-Dufour mechanism and magnetic field strength were also neglected.…”

“…In their previous study, there was no Cattaneo-Christov model, and the Soret-Dufour mechanism and magnetic field strength were also neglected. The work done by Oyelami and Falodun [20] has been extended in this study to fill the missing gap. The case in this study shall focus on the MHD heat and mass transfer motion of upper convection Maxwell fluid along a flat plate with thermal radiation, variable temperature, the Cattaneo-Christov model, and the Soret-Dufour mechanism.…”

“…There are exceptions to every rule. Many equipment, like the MHD current generator and the Hall accelerator, use magnetohydrodynamic flows to transfer heat and mass, and recent advances in this area have been impressive [1][2][3]. Magnetic field effects on the motion of electrically executing viscous fluid with mass transport are also useful for the study of the planetary atmosphere.…”
