Heat shock protein 27 and gross cystic disease fluid protein 15 play critical roles in molecular apocrine breast cancer

Abstract: Molecular apocrine breast cancer (MABC) has a distinct hormonal profile, being estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) negative but androgen receptor (AR) positive. The clinical significance of MABC and its relative variables have not been absolutely clarified and remain to be determined. Five hundred cases of invasive breast carcinoma were randomly selected in this study, including 158 MABC cases and 342 nonMABC cases. Expression of ER, PR, epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), Ki67, AR, gr… Show more

“…We have previously stated that MABC was associated with a serious of increased risk of malignant breast cancer, including higher histological grade, tumor stage, and pTNM stage [11]. Our findings from this study supplemented the conclusion that MABC tumors metastasized earlier than nonMABC.…”

“…ER, PR and HER2 are commonly used for diagnosing process and choosing appropriate treatment options for particular types of breast cancer. However, AR detected in 100% of ACs is an emerging potential target for accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment [6].…”

“… 33 35 With respect to cancer therapy, elevated Hsp27 levels in breast, ovarian, pancreatic, colon, and bladder cancers are associated with poor prognosis. 36 43 In addition, Hsp27 overexpression has been linked to resistance to chemotherapeutic agents in lung, prostate, breast, pancreas, and colon cancers. 44 52 …”
